For the second time in a row I was on board for snacks. I think it was today we were served fried banana chips, which were extremely tasty and addictive. I made up for my lunch and then some.
The ship moved over to the side of the island, away from most signs of habitation. The water wasn't quite so rough, but it was extremely windy. Kristine led some of the passengers in a "horse race" dice game by the bar, but I took it easy at the bow. A couple relatives pointed out the tiny charterhouse, seemingly inaccessible on the steep dark slope, and the road which the Captain had mentioned at Storytime. The Canadian government had given Saba forty-two million dollars to build a road from one end of the island to the other -- but at island's end, the road stopped, a dead-end without a turnaround or roundabout.

It was pretty easy for me to wear something with the letter "P". I'd brought enough Buffett tour shirts for a week -- but no one had told me I'd need at least two shirts a day -- so I changed into my final Buffett shirt and went as a "Parrot Head". I'd eaten too much at snack time, but I still had a helping of grilled shrimp on a wooden skewer. The wind was so bad I sat on the floor of the deck, in the lee of one of the bow benches.
After dinner, amid the roaring wind, our party and costume contest began, featuring a rogues gallery "of costumes and players."

The participants gathered into a big circle, introduced themselves, and then were encouraged to dance in front of the judges. I did what Parrot Heads do best, stand off to the side and finish their drink. After the first round, three couples were named as finalists.

After the festivities, we raised sails by moonlight and prepared to head to our next island. The Captain had warned that the sailing would be rough, and he recommended we stick to our cabins. I did as I was told, but a great number of people stayed by the bar, reveling as the waves splashed onto the decks, and lustily singing Bob Marley songs as we departed.
