To quote Brandon at Fight the Patent<\/a>: \u201cWhat was the Patent Office thinking<\/i>?\u201d Wired<\/i> has a story<\/a> that Microsoft now has the patent on, get this, double-clicking. True, the patent is supposed to focus on controls for a PDA, but the application is written in such vague language that it could apply to a simple mouse double-click. This is a common tactic of these BS patents (as a casual glance at Slashdot<\/a> shows on an almost daily basis) and it’s disgusting that the Patent Office is either so stupid or so easily swayed as to approve everything that crosses their desk.
