To augment my PowerBook, I got a nice 250GB 7200rpm Maxtor OneTouch<\/a> external hard drive. And to make the hard drive accessible to my IBM-PC I got a program called MacDrive<\/a>, which is supposed to let Windows read Mac-formatted drives. It sounded like the perfect plan. I could archive my larger files, as well as sharing them between the two OS’s. Unfortunately, the new software does not do the one thing I bought it for. MacDrive does not recognize my Mac drive. Windows itself can not read the drive, of course, but at least it recognizes something has been plugged in. MacDrive, on the other hand, sits blissfully ignorant, whether I use USB or FireWire. I’ve already contacted their tech support and have sent them information about my situation. We’ll see what happens from there.
