He fucked up John Adams<\/i>. He fucked up this movie. Yet somehow the script, the acting, and the story itself were evidently strong enough to survive his ham-handed, “Look at me! I’m directing!<\/I>” self-conscious self-aggrandizing style to allow him to get an award in their wake.
