The prices have risen in the snack machines here at work. The price of a 1\u00bd oz bag of chips has gone up a nickel since yesterday. Now it&#8217;s at the ungainly amount of 80\u00a2. Making matters worse, candy bars have gone up a whole dime, to 75\u00a2.  To say I am devastated would be an understatement.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Proof. Pure and simple. Evil from the Eighth Dimension&#8230;<br><center><div width=\"320px\" style=\"margin: 10px; border: 1px solid #555; background-color:black;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/wastinaway.net\/shortfatguy\/images\/snacks.jpg?resize=350%2C202&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"350\" height=\"202\"><br><center><font size=\"2\" color=\"white\"><center><small>\u201cThe Horror! \u2026 The Horror\u201d<\/small><\/font><\/center><\/div><\/center><br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Offsetting that is some better news, and something I should&#8217;ve made note of over the weekend.  <a href=\"mailto:frolixo@somethingawful.com\" title=\"Mr Fancypants's SA e-mail address\">Frolixo<\/a>, a frequent commentator here, as well as coworker, <i>bon vivant<\/i>, and babe-magnet, has been hired as the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.somethingawful.com\/articles.php?a=1276\" title=\"\u201cA Beginner's Guide to Farming\u201d 02\/15\/03\">weekend columnist<\/a> for the internationally renowned humor website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.somethingawful.com\" title=\"SA front page\">Something Awful<\/a>.<br>&nbsp; &nbsp; Speaking of <b>SA<\/b>, hats off to the mods and posters in the FYAD forum who banded together to save someone&#8217;s life last night! I didn&#8217;t see the <a href=\"http:\/\/forums.somethingawful.com\/showthread.php?s=&amp;threadid=400139\" title=\"Link only works if you subscribe to the SA forums. And it looks like the thread got moved anyway.\">message board thread<\/a> till this morning but reading the guy&#8217;s announcement, how posters IM&#8217;d him to keep in contact, found out his name and possible addresses, traced his IP address and contacted Road Runner, and how the authorities finally found him in time and got him to a hospital was chilling, nerve-wracking, exciting, and ultimately very touching.
