Just back from tonight’s Parrot Head cruise, up and down the Detroit River. This was what we were talking about back in Episode 127, the cruise where Mike’s brother Jim (the singer of our theme song) was going to perform acoustic versions of Buffett songs. I shot video, recorded some audio, and also shot some photos with my cellphone. Some notable highlights included a pole dance to “Changes in Latitudes” — which I’m pretty sure has to be a world-record, history-making first — and that the drawing for the free concert tickets was won by our very own Schmoe!
After Mike’s news from two weeks ago, it’s almost getting to the point where we have more tickets than we know what to do with! …Not really, but close. And not that we’re complaining.
Hopefully I’ll be uploading the video soon, but until then here are the cellphone pictures, which I uploaded to our Photo Gallery.
Update: here’s the video .
Thanks guys for taking the Pier 500’s Parrothead Cruise. I hope you had a good time. Congratulations to Joe for winning the Buffett tickets. Seems a fitting outcome for a member of WAOTNC to win. If the tickets are in fact by the sound board you should have the best audio vantage point. Well, I gave my best shot at the Buffett tunes but didn’t get to all of the ones I wanted to. Rehearsal time for Jay and I was limited. I was bummed that I didn’t at least do Pirate Looks at 40. I will try and lay down a recording of that soon. We did get to “Come Monday”, “Changes In Latitudes”, “Fins”(burger), “Cheeseburger In Paradise”, “Margaritaville” and capped it off with “Lovely Cruise”. Anyway Jay and I hope you had a good time. See you all again soon. -Jim
