Still using the same old Feeding Frenzy music bed, here is this year’s radio ad, recorded this morning (off WCSX 94.7, at approximately 10:30 AM EDT.)

2019 is looking better already. We never got a concert last year, and Pine Knob is one of the first dates announced this year. Here’s the radio ad, recorded just this morning. (Off WCSX 94.7, at approximately 7:10 AM EST.)
I didn’t see an ad in the newspaper over the weekend. But here’s what’s showing on the 313 Presents page. Kinda surprised the tour is still Son of a Son of Sailor and not Volcano.

Update: I was wondering when 313 Presents was going to post a graphic with some information on it…

Show Notes:
Recorded Saturday, December 29 2018 (3:30 – 4:00 PM), Brownstown MI
“Who says we didn’t record anything in 2018? Mickey gets an audio file in just under the wire, wishing you all a Happy 2019!”
I caught the “standard” radio commercial today.
Once again I was monitoring WCSX 94.7 FM, and it aired at around 10:50 AM.
Notice the change in sound quality? This recording is a bit cleaner, without any booming bass. I bought myself a new boombox last Christmas, with a cool Bluetooth feature where I can send it music off my phone. I was looking forward to seeing how it work in recording these commercials — especially since my old boombox didn’t have a working antenna! I was hoping I’d get a clearer signal, with less hiss, but instead I got the booming bass heard in the pre-sale commercial, below. I thought WCSX was overdoing it with the compression, but it turns out I unknowingly had had the boombox’s “Mega Bass” feature activated! So it was all my fault. Today’s recording was done without any augmentation.
You think we’ve been away too long? I forgot how to post a blog entry and upload stuff!
But here you go, fresh off my SD card — this year’s radio ad for this year’s tour, recorded off WCSX 94.7 FM, tonight, at around 8:20 PM (EDT). Unlike most years it includes pre-sale information, which makes me think I might have to listen for a “straight” radio ad next week.
(See if you can guess where the music bed comes from…)
Anyone else confused by all those numbers, dates, and caveats? It’s like the list of side effects in a prescription drug commercial!
Recorded today at around 8:35 AM, off WCSX 94.7. It’s the :30 version; hopefully I’ll be able to catch the full :60 version later.
Update (2/25): after monitoring WOMC 104.3 for almost six hours on Wednesday morning and WYCD 99.5 for over six hours this morning, it appears the :30 version is indeed the only version this tear.
Caught this morning off 94.7 WCSX, at around 6:15 AM (EDT).
This year’s radio ad, once again recorded off WYCD 99.5 FM, at around 10:30 this morning…
It’s the new radio ad, recorded a day earlier than expected. As with last year, I recorded WYCD 99.5 FM (about fifteen hours’ worth, over two days) and caught the commercial at around 11:05 EDT this morning…
(As usual, the ending got a little clipped; but since most of the music is yet again from Feeding Frenzy I just used my CD to create a nicer fade-out.)
I’ve been recording WCSX since Saturday, but I got the new commercial off WYCD after only an hour! From 99.5 WYCD Detroit’s Country, at 6:10 EDT this morning…
Update: a slightly improved version of this commercial, recorded at around 11:40 AM EDT (also off WYCD), was added to the podcast feed, at around 4:10 PM.
