This Place Blows
Sung to the tune of Jimmy Buffett's "Don't Chu Know" off the Barometer Soup album.
With apologies to all Ohio residents who may take offense, this song was written in response to the wet, sloppy, muddy concert at Buckeye Lake, while I and a friend waited three hours to get out of the venue's parking lot.
Now, for no particular reason, newly translated into French and Spanish!
You went there to see Buffett and band
but you got much more than you'd planned
The show had appeal but became an ordeal
This place blows, this place blows, this place blows
Your lovely night really began
with a two-hour long traffic jam
I-70 was first but was hardly the worst
This place blows, this place blows, this place blows
There was only one way to get in
That in itself is a sin
You're parking in mud but all your wheels do is just spin
To get to your seats on the ground
you were forced through the crowds on the lawn
Your newly bought shirt is all covered in dirt
This place blows, this place blows, this place blows
(Bridge)
Someone please explain to me
how this layout has come to be
Making thousands of us go
through some gates in narrow rows
This place blows
There is no excuse for this mess
All those cars but with just one egress
You'd think paying customers would deserve better than this
You might as well bring out a cot
while waiting to exit their lot
They've worked it out right
You'll be out by first light
This place blows, this place blows, this place blows
This place blows, this place blows, this place blows
This place blows, this place blows, this place blows
Sing-along to another parody about this night.
