Far Side of the World

Behold the power of the Internet. The new album isn’t out till Tuesday, but since AOL is downstreaming it I’m able to listen to Far Side of the World as I type this. It’s too soon to offer any serious review, but I can say I’ve taken an instant liking to pretty much every song. The band sounds great and there’s a nice variety to the song selection. I might eventually tire of Jimmy’s “White Man Rap” (such as on “Altered Boy” and “Autour De Rocher”, the latter of which by the way sounds a bit too much like “Jamaica Mistaica” but it’s got a nicely unexpected and infectious riff), but I can imagine myself playing this album a lot this Summer — especially to make up for the fact Jimmy is skipping a concert in Michigan again. (I know, I’ve whined about this already, but I can’t resist another rant.)
    Happy listening…
