Yes, Virginia, there is a shockandawe.com
I know that this strategy is expected to bring an end to the aggression in Iraq, but I’ve already grown sick of hearing the term* and the war has only just begun. It’s this kind of thing that makes me envy my web server. I can use it to ban certain IP addresses, and I wish I had that kind of functionality built into my own brain. All instances of “Shock & Awe”**, “Anna Nicole Smith”, “Reality TV”, “Monica Lewinsky” [God help us, she’s hosting a dating show!], “freedom fries”, et al would be instantly rejected by the recognition centers of my brain, and I wouldn’t have to be so irritated by their continual and unending usage.
Sounds rather cool, actually. A little brain chip. I could put myself in standby and be able to fall asleep instantly. I could uninstall my appendix or my tonsils, if need be. I could defrag myself too, so I wouldn’t be so scatterbrained. But then again, what if I crashed? Or had to be reformatted!? And I’m sure Microsoft would want in on this, and we’d end up only slightly more stable, needing constant security patches, and all thinking exactly the same.
Anyway…what was I talking about again?
    * I’ve heard it about two dozen times already in only one hour of CNN Radio.
** I’ll know it, reportedly, when I see it.
