This looks like it might be an excellent solution for me. I, like fellow blogger Greg, suffer from keratoconus, a thinning of the cornea which leads to blurred vision. (He has it worse than I do though, and the National Center for Keratoconus is also the charity for which he’s blogging.) It’s a degenerative disease and the only cure is corneal transplant.
However the problem might now be solved with implanatable contact lenses. I saw a story on them on Tech TV’s Tech Live Tuesday, and it looks like a great though pricey alternative. The procedure is still being tested. But if Ursula Andress recommends it, then, heck, how can I say no.
P.S. I was only joking about changing my charity.
P.P.S. Actually, it looks like intra corneal rings might help me more (but I typed up so many dang links that I’m not going to edit this!).
