Back Again

    Well it looks like my Internet problems might not have been due to interference, a bad RF cable, a bad outlet, infrasound, or the Indian burial ground upon which the house was built. It looks like it was due to a bad cable modem.
    A day after reporting how my Internet problems had vanished, they returned with a vengeance. I’ve had spotty connectivity since Friday and I finally went to the Comcast payment center this morning and swapped out the cable modem. The new modem works fine — until shortly after I publish this, presumably, if everything stays true to form — and, at last (at least), the modem is not constantly resetting itself and I’m able to stay online for more than a couple minutes a day.
    I doubt if this will increase the frequency of updates here however, but that’s only because I’ll be preoccupied in downloading MP3s, SHNs, MPEGs, warez, and porn. Tally-ho!
