I first read about this on Bill Maher‘s blog, and I see other bloggers and assorted sites are discussing it too. Unfortunately I can’t weigh in [tee hee] with an opinion, since these new appetizers — brainchild of the Cattlemen’s Association and manufactured by Oklahoma’s Advance Foods, who also provided the accompanying photo — are only being sold in Nebraska, Minnesota and Texas right now.
I have to admit the jalapeño version intrigues me. I doubt they’ll outsell chicken fingers, as hoped, but they might still do well — depending how they end up tasting, of course. They might even succeed as a drive-thru item, making it simpler and neater to have a burger in the car. We shall see eventually I suppose, since obviously I’m duty-bound to sample some when they finally are sold around here.
