study confirms most Americans have at least one of three misconceptions about the Iraq invasion (those being that Saddam Hussein was involved in the September 2001 attacks, that the US have found weapons of mass destruction, and/or that most countries backed the invasion plans). Furthermore, findings show
Fox News was their prime source of information. Researchers are uncertain if this means Fox News was promulgating propaganda, if only stupid people watch Fox News, or if people are idiots in general.
Update: TV idiocy is not limited to America. According to
CNN, a German woman called her fire department, mistaking a “burning log” fireplace-video for her TV being on fire. Similarly, another German woman reacting to the on-screen flames poured water on her TV.
