Howdy Everyone!
This is gonna have to be pretty short, as I have volleyball soon. First of all, thank you to Kim and my grandmother for the wonderful letters! They were a joy to receive!
Second, last weekend I took another trip, to a town called Baños, at the foot of the volcano Tungurahua. To make a long story short, we saw the volcano spew ash and smoke, we biked down a mountain to see many a beautiful waterfall, and took 4-wheelers to a zoo to see the famed Andean condor. It really was an amazing sight, and if I had more time I’d go into more detail, but then, when I came home, I wouldn’t have any stories to tell!
Other things going on in my life here: I’ve had my first exam, which I think went really well. I have another tomorrow. Also, I think I joined a volleyball team here. I guess there is some sort of tournament thingy, or something, and teams sign up to play in it, or something. I really don’t know. Nothing is for sure in this country. But if I AM on a team, it should be a ton of fun.
I also wanted to say that Arnold being a governor is making us look like fools to our families here. Granted, our goverment in Ecuador has had more than a few fútbol players, but still… I would appreciate it if someone could let Arnold know that I am getting made fun of down here because of him.
Sending my best, as always,
Joe
