    The Supreme Court has agreed to hear debate on whether the “one Nation under God” phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance should remain. This story could be big, although the ruling won’t be till next year. Personally, I think the word “Supreme” should be removed from their name, since it makes lower courts think there’s sour cream involved.
    • Apparently, Nokia phones are bursting into flames. One woman burned her face; one boy, whose phone was in his pocket, burned his leg. Nokia believes the problem is caused when non-Nokia batteries are used. They are looking into the matter, which is awfully nice of them.
    • More from the People are Idiots department: discussing the California gubernatorial election, Leoville.com had this to say. “Do you find it at all depressing that some guy named George B. Schwartzman got over 10,000 votes because his name looked like Schwarzenegger?&$8221;
    • Speaking of the election, Diebold’s electronic voting system is being criticized for questionable security and because it doesn’t backup votes with any kind of paper record. Diebold’s response was to shut down a website that was critical of them. Ah yes, the future of politics.
