During my latest dabblings in Linux — the OS which continues to taunt and thwart me — I was concentrating on Red Hat, since it was a well-known name and a name I thought I could trust. I guess I was wrong. According to
Slashdot, Red Hat will “discontinue maintenance” on all existing versions (by April 2004) and do not plan on offering any more upgrades.
Gee, thanks.
Apparently they will be concentrating on the business version of Red Hat, since I guess they only just realized there’s little money to be made in free software. As if they couldn’t’ve learned as much from Netscape.
As one
wit from Something Awful said, “Install Windows. Problem solved.”
