Blog Within a Blog: My New Computer 6.5

From the “I Guess I’ll Just Never Learn” Department: I just ordered a new SATA drive for my supercomputer. As you’ll recall, it was the SATA drives which failed last month, causing me to lose between 160 and 200 GBs of data on my RAID. (Unless I can scrounge $1,000 to $15,000 for a data recovery service.)
I can assure you I do not intend on creating another RAID (certainly not a striped RAID0). Simply put, my IDE connections are full and I want the new SATA drive so I can get back to using Windows XP. Windows 2000, which I’m using now, is just too dull and dry; plus the fact I’m less used to it than XP.
Here’s hoping the whole thing doesn’t just blow up the next time I work inside it.
P.S. In Diet Blog: Day Nine news: I weighed in at 230½ this morning. That’s another four pounds lost, bringing the total to eight pounds lost this week. Even more remarkably, I don’t feel as gnawingly hungry.
I still would kill for a slice of pizza though.
