• John Williams’s score for the 1977 film Close Encounters of the Third Kind, one of my favorites, has been released as an HDAD (Hybrid Digital Audio Disc), with improved sound, available at Acoustic Sound.
• Speaking of Williams, you can listen to his new score to The Terminal, released today, via the MP3 samples at the Dreamworks fansite. The score is a pastiche, and I’ve already recognized snippets from Encounters and Jaws, but Harry Knowles has already said this score is Williams’s best since Prisoner of Azkaban.
