Another fireworks video. This time in WIIIDESCREEEEN. It rained hard that night and there weren’t a lot of people left at the park. For once I was able to go up to the riverfront for a different angle.I thought I might have jinxed myself by posting all those videos as a buildup to tonight’s fireworks display. A sudden downpour right at dusk threatened the possibility of the event’s rescheduling. It certainly helped clear out the crowds, which allowed me to get much closer to the action. Half my video was shot at our usual field, but during the second half I walked right down to the riverside, affording me a great video of the barge whence the fireworks originate. In fact, you could even say I was too close.
There’s a stylistic change to the video this year too. I still haven’t committed to buying a digital camcorder; but, for the heck of it, I’ve decided to switch my old Hi8 to shooting in 16×9. I guess it’s kind of a compromise. Thus, this year’s grand finale is presented in wiiiiiiiiidescreeeeeen…
