Numbing-orean

I noticed someone searching my site for this information, and now I can provide it. I found from TORN that the official Lord of the Rings site has released a list of theaters which will be participating in the “Special Extended Edition Screenings”, allowing theatergoers a chance to see The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers Extended Editions on the big screen. This also includes what TORN is calling “Trilogy Tuesday” when the two Extended Editions will be exhibited back to back, leading to the premiere of The Return of the King!
Here is the schedule, from the official site:
December 5-11
Special Extended Edition The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

December 12-15
Special Extended Edition The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Tuesday, December 16
One-time-only marathon of both the Extended Edition prints followed by the first screenings of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
And here are the participating Michigan theaters:
Flint National Amusements Showcase Cinema 12
Grand Rapids       Celebration Cinema 17
Lansing Celebration Cinemas 18
Southfield Star Southfield 20 Cinema
This sounds like a great idea, but, honestly, I can’t imagine having the stamina to watch what promises to be almost eleven hours of movies in one sitting. I’ll probably just re-enact the Extended Edition screenings at home.
