Alice… We Want You… Alice…

I am really enjoying Alice Cooper’s latest album The Eyes of Alice Cooper. Pretty much every song is excellent and it’s great he can create such great work so far into his career.
Similarly, I made the interesting discovery today that listening to Alice Cooper’s Special Forces (an old favorite) on the way to work can really improve one’s mood. Sadly, this 1982 release is only available as an import — get with it, WEA! — but is worth it just for its witty lyrics and the suite of songs that used to comprise Side Two.
So let’s continue the Special Forces celebration:
    • This site contains a wealth of information, even including the songs typically performed during the Special Forces tour. Shockingly, only one song was performed off the album! http://www.alicecoopershow.co.uk/albums/sf/alice_cooper_special_forces.htm
The lyric transcriptions do not appear to be all that accurate, which is a shame since so many other sites appear to have copied it. Hence the spelling “pyjamas” showing up on so many other lyrics sites.
    • This guy though seems have done a better job transcribing. I also like the way he formatted the lyrics for one of my favorite songs off the album.

At least their reader reviewers like it.

And returning to The Eyes of Alice Cooper
I had a feeling there might be alternate covers for this album, and this page shows I was right.

Something else I noticed this morning while driving to work — and while listening to the “You’re a Movie” song — “movie” is a really dumb word. “Muu-veee”. It’s so silly. It makes as much sense to nickname a motion picture a “blinky” or a “strippy”. (And “film” is not much better.)
