Well, the first move has been made. I ordered my ATX full tower case this morning. My thanks to all who voted in the poll, but I’ve decided to pull rank and get the Clear Premium case anyway. It just seems more versatile, and with LEDs inside I can make it whatever color I want. What I really wanted was the Black Ice model, but that isn’t offered as a full tower. I received word from C3 that “There will be more color options coming available over the next weeks”, but I can’t wait that long.The next stumbling block is with the motherboard. I’ve already decided to go for a top of the line P4 3.0GB with 800MHz FSB, but there aren’t that many motherboards available that can handle that. And I’ve been reading some disheartening things about the few that do. I’ve been looking at the Gigabyte GA-8KNXP (or the cheaper GA-8IK1100), but I’m seeing that other users are having trouble getting it to recognize RAM and to work with Windows XP.
Another option might be the Asus P4C800 motherboard. But similar problems are reported with it too.
Oh well. Gotta keep shopping…
