First Soundboard CDs Arrive

I got my copies from Amazon. They showed up yesterday. The discs have some nice albeit simple packaging, and a very nice touch is the inclusion of JB’s “handwritten” setlists.
As the back cover says, ”nothing has been altered in anyway“ so the soundboard recording is pretty much monaural: almost all the instruments are mixed toward the center. This is fine for listening on speakers but can get kind of dull on headphones. It’s probably preferable to mix the sound to mono for a live concert setting; but the only CDs I can compare these to are The Who’s 2002 series, which had full stereo mixes.
The Seattle show might be of more interest, just for the Hendrix song. One thing that surprises me a great deal is the Las Vegas discs were mastered with two-second gaps between tracks! It’s as if someone made us an MP3 CDR or something (though I hasten to add the CDs are silver and not CDRs). Next time, Mailboat needs to set Nero for DAO, I guess.
